Dressing Sense and Body Language: Personality Development

Welcome to the first blog of the personality development series. Today we are going to discuss the first and foremost thing that anyone notices about you. You got that right! It is Your dressing sense and body language. I have aggregated all the essential knowledge in this single article that you don't need to visit any other place once you apply this all in your life. So, let's dig deeper without any ado.

Dressing sense:

The dressing sense should not be mistaken. I am not asking you to go out and wear some fancy clothing to have a good impression on others. It's just the way you carry your clothes. A person who wears way too stylish clothes may not look as great in personality as a person with an average clothing sense but who knows the way of carrying his clothes and confidence in him

So the only unforgattable rule of clothing is, 'Stay simple, stay confident'.

Body language:

I must say body language is the king! It is a proven fact that your body language can help one to understand 70% of your personality just in one go. I guess this is sufficient enough for you to understand the value of body language.

Things you should do to represent correct body language:

Relaxed, free body: Not too open, not too close.

• When it comes to perfect body language a perfect eye contact is a must. You should maintain normal eye contact where you neither stare at the observer nor take eyes away from him. Your eye contact must be expressive.

Moving hands while explaining describes your confidence. Further, it helps the audiens in understanding you better. A one hand or a two hand gesture can reconstruct the entire mood of the listener.

Note: doing it too much doesn't work either.

• Dealing with our smile is one of the biggest problems especially noticed in the young generations. There's always a sequence of questions revolving in our head. We often deal with some of these question, "Am I looking rude?", "Am I smiling too much?", "Do I look like making fun of him?", "Oh Gosh! please help, my face couldn't discriminate between smiling and laughing" et cetera.

Keep a moderate smile on your face and even don't smile too much. Rather I would say don't think about it much. Going with the flow suits the best.

• You should maintain an upright body posture with a straight back. Audience is way more talented than you expect them to be. They can easily feel your discomfort, stress, nervousness or your freindliness and confidence. Here your body posture act as an indicator.

•  A straight-facing head is important.

• You must always show your interest in any conversation. Move your head, reply and put your point. Just get involved in the conversation. It gives a boost to the feel-good hormones of the person you are talking to. Try building a connection.

Things you should never do:

Playing with hair, putting hands on your face and touching your nose, moving legs, moving pen, biting nails, itching your body and head. These are the worst things you can ever do in any conversation or interview. If these are your habits then don't take more time, try and change them as soon as possible. And trust me it's not even that hard to lose these habits.

No blocking posture, no folded hands and legs. Keep your body free.

Don't laugh or smile a lot. This is an indicator of self-doubt, fakeness, and lack of confidence.

•When some people are asked to make eye contact they tend to stare at the other person which is never a good sign. Eye contact must be soothing and should be natural.

Don't look down while talking. Your head must be upright with your eyes making natural and expressive eye contact

So, that's all you should know about your dressing sence and body language. I hope the first article of this personality development series will help you out. See you in the next article. Till the goodbye and stay giggly.
